Biopharma for a Smile is the volunteer project that has enabled the active involvement of our employees since 2016, in order to provide medicines and health care to children and families in the villages of Andavadoaka and Anakao, Madagascar.
On July 5 our two volunteers left for theVezo Hospital in Andavadoaka to provide support to the medical team in the area and contribute to the care and survival of the local population.
“It has been the most beautiful and intense experience of our lives,” - they tell us - “we studied, reasoned, shared and collaborated with to help and leave a tangible footprint."
Conveying the importance of cleanliness in the workplaces, managing a constantly updated inventory, collaborating with doctors and pharmacists, teaching the Italian language and making galenic preparations useful for the timely treatment of patients, are just some of the activities in which the collaborators contributed, establishing a deep bond with the population and the doctors .
Hopitaly Vezo, which now has between 40 and 60 daily visits, is in fact one of the few facilities in the area to offer free health care and, through awareness-raising and training initiatives, has set itself the goal of inspiring, empowering and educating new local staff, hoping to be able to leave them this very important witness in the future.
“Despite the difficult conditions Andavadoaka is a magical dimension full of joy and generosity.” - they explain - "People are genuine and patient. We came back home with our hearts filled with their smiles and gratitude."
The important results achieved and the numerous initiatives carried out confirm, to date, the humanitarian and solidarity value of the project, underlining the importance of inclusion, sharing, education and health culture, which are at the basis of our identity.
